Since the release of the first Angry Birds title, the largely mobile-based title had become ubiquitous with its popularity, eventually becoming available on just about every gaming platform out there. But until now, Angry Birds is not yet available on the Wii series of Nintendo, but that will change on August 13. Developer Rovio announced this week that the Angry Birds Trilogy will be arriving for both the Wii and Wii U on the 13th of August, though pricing has yet to be announced.
This should be a game best enjoyed by Wii U players, as the newer Nintendo console comes with the unique GamePad – this allows gamers to use the touchscreen to launch the birds against the bad piggies and their increasingly complicated dwellings. Making the game interactive is the presence of online leaderboards, so gamers can see how well they’re doing in relation to other players from other parts of the world. As for the Wiimote, it’s not sure yet if or how it will be used in relation to the game, but it’s a fair guess it could be used for slingshot control.
Again, pricing is not yet available for either the Wii or Wii U versions, but it should definitely be costlier than what it would set you back by if purchased on the Google Play Store or Apple App Store. We expect this information to be available closer to the release date.
